About Me

​As a journalist, I have written about climate, environment, and culture for a decade, including eight years at the digital magazine Grist. More recently, my reporting has focused on the ways in which pollution from the fossil fuel industry has shaped life in Appalachia.

In addition to Grist, my writing has appeared in The Atlantic, The Guardian, The New Republic, and more. My work has been recognized by the American Society of Magazine Editors, Society of Professional Journalists, Online News Association, and Institute for Nonprofit News, among others.
